Franziska Dörfel is a contemporary German painter.
She was born in Rostock in 1982. Her artistic exploration focuses on the superimposition, condensation and transparency of colour.
In her painting, she refers to an oldmasterly approach, but breaks through this with contemporary elements and disruptive factors. She consciously uses these techniques to reinforce her pictorial themes, which she works out layer by layer, changes, refines and also destroys again and again. This intuitive working process in the development of her paintings is the essence of her artistic work, which is characterised by depth of content and painterly complexity.
Franziska Dörfel lives in Lower Saxony in northern Germany and is a member of the Westwendischer Kunstverein and the artists' group "Rosa Garage".
Franziska Dörfel has taken part in regional exhibitions and her works are in private collections in Germany. In her studio, she works intensively on exploring the boundaries between abstraction and figurative painting.
